Birkhall

The gardens of Birkhall, near Ballater, are HRH King Charles III’s Scottish home on the Balmoral Estate, former residence of the Queen Mother. Situated 600 feet above sea level and occupying a south-facing slope, it is enclosed by woodland and the fast flowing River Muick, a tributary of the Dee. Story commissioned by Country Life Magazine.
